The roads of Mallorca hide more than one secret, tough inclines, explosive declines, jaw dropping views…You will ride past mountains with typical Mediterranean greenery, beaches with crystal clear waters, steep cliffs and towns that look like they have been pulled out of a fairy tale, as soon as you finish you’ll be dreaming of going back.

Direction Sa Calobra

The Sierra de Tramuntana is the mountain range which crowns the north west of Mallorca and surprises even the most experienced of travellers. It forms part of the Unesco World Heritage Site and is made up of 54 peaks which measure over 1.000 metres in height. What makes it so special is its proximity to the sea, a very unlikely location for a mountain range of this height.

We want to suggest a route which begins in Alcudia, an area which is very close by to Puerto Pollensa, where you can enjoy the bicycle rental in Mallorca that RentMarch offers. Travelling around Mallorca by bike has never been so easy. We begin with a route which has the objective of getting to the cove Sa Calobra. The distance surpasses 52 km, although it can be modified fitting to your fitness level.

This route is recommended to experienced cyclists as not only are there a lot of inclines, but also a lot of horseshoe declines as you head towards Sa Calobra, lasting around 10 km, speed is key, requiring a certain level of control to avoid surprises. It is a unique route that you won’t forget.

The journey begins in Alcudia, continuing on to Cala Tuent and carries on until reaching Sa Calobra, to then return. If you’re looking for a challenge, this is your route.

Puerto Pollensa heading through the Playa de la Victoria

This route is classified as fairly easy and it can be started from the port of Alcudia or the Port of Pollensa. You don’t have to be a professional cyclist or take your bicycle from your starting point to be able to experiment with the magic of cycling in Mallorca. At Rench March we have an ample selection of bicycles to rent, so that the only thing you have to worry about is enjoying yourself.

To end this route you will have to do over 35 km on fairly flat ground. It’s great to enjoy as during the route you can pedal along admiring the contrast of the coast and mountains, with the peculiarities that accompany each one of these areas. To begin the journey you can start at the Port of Alcudia or the Port of Pollensa, continuing through Aucanada, Es Mal Pas, la Ermita de la Victoria, the beach of la Victoria and finally return to your starting point.

The beach of la Victoria is well known for its unspoilt character, that is to say it has no human alterations, and paired with its crystal clear waters transform it in to a special must see location year after year.
